This year, the UK fleet have moved their ever popular European Grand Prix round to their new home at Calshot near Southampton. For the fourth time, this will contribute to the European GP Series. The large beach rigging area makes this a great event to come to and see the boats up close and also on the race course just off the beach.
The event always gets a good turn out from UK boats and were expecting a huge fleet from the extra sailors in the UK. The event is run by the UK 18ft Skiff Class Association. The skiffs are rigged and launched from Calshot Activity Centre and we join the race committee in the Solent.

Entry Cost
£30 per team plus £44 launching fee for visiting boats. This includes an evening BBQ.

Accommodation
There are many Bed and Breakfasts nearby to stay. They book up fast, so its suggested to get something booked sooner rather than later. Many of the fleet will be staying at the bunkhouse at Calshot Activity Centre. Rooms are still available at £26 per person per night (for Thursday to Saturday) or camping is available on site too at £9 per person per night. Social
There will be a social each evening, including a fleet BBQ on the beach nearby one evening.
Transport
The nearest port is Portsmouth which is an hour. Or Dover is much further away, but the crossing is much quicker for those coming from further East in Europe.
